Season 7 – England vs. Norway, Andorra and San Marino

After the good display against Senegal, we fought against Norway for the Euro Cup Qualifiers. We played well, but failed to get shots on target. Though our domination was clearly seen thru our possession and with the Nordics getting only two shots on goal. A good win!

When we faced Andorra, our supremacy was very clear, and we could have easily gone over 10 goals in the match, but again, our High Tempo passing game gets the ball hot upfront, and we missed more shots off target than on the right spot! Anyhow, the Andorran keeper had the job to pick up the ball in the back of his nets six times! What a match for Marvin Sordell who bagged two goals. But Theo Walcott was named Man of the Match, with one goal scored and participation on other goals too! The game also signaled to me that Nathaniel Clyne and Ryan Bennett are really interested in becoming regular players in my selection. Indeed they are getting their space, but so they were tested against weaker sides, and will be tested against stronger Nations soon!

After the 6×0 against Andorra, another goal glut against San Marino. Six goals in the back of the net by Mr. Walcott’s feet! He also participated on other goals. Another great performance by Clyne and Bennett. This game was also marked by an impressive performance of James Tomkins, who have being under my radar and currently defending Fulham, ending up the seventh season with an Avg. Rating of 7,41. On the left back, I might have found the solution for Jack Robinson’s reserve, Tyler Blackett. With some pretty impressive performances, he could even steal Robinson’s spot. Though he have to prove himself against stronger oppositions. Against San Marino, Justice Masuku, born in South Africa, and under my management era at Brighton and Arsenal, got his first Senior Cap. He didn’t add too much, but for a first game I’m satisfied.

With these three wins our leadership in Group A is very dominant, and we should qualify in first place in the group by then end of this phase. There is still four games, to be played, but I’m pretty sure that will beat Cyprus and Andorra again, and the games against Italy and Norway wouldn’t mean much for our qualification, only if Norway managed to win all last four games, then they could get past us.
